Recycling is currently one of the most important topics for the polymer industry. Important drivers like environmental concerns, public opinion and legislation are forcing the entire plastics value chain to come up with swift and decisive actions.

When considering plastics recycling of post-consumer waste streams, it is important to realize that most of the plastics contained in these streams are comprised of polyolefins. These include polypropylene (PP), low density polyethylene (LDPE), linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), high density polyethylene (HDPE) and various copolymers e.g. EVA. The use and exposure of the plastics during lifetime and also mechanical recycling of plastics generally results in degradation of the polymer. This yields a lower quality product with inferior (physical) properties.

Nouryon is committed to supporting the plastic recycling initiative and offers a range of products for the plastic recycling industry that improve polymer properties. For increasing the melt flow index (MFI) and for grafting/compatibilizing we offer Trigonox 301 20-PP. For decreasing the melt flow index (MFI) we offer Perkadox PM W-75.

Nouryon has a long history of developing products to modify polymers- experience that can greatly benefit the recycling industry. The products we have developed can successfully be applied in the upcycling of plastic waste streams. With more than 75 years of experience in the production of organic peroxides, Nouryon can help you with any questions you may have on the safe use, storage, handling or transport of these products.
