Products for various applications

Resin transfer molding

For the construction market, automotive industry, sandwich panels and boats. Resin transfer molding (RTM) comprises resin injection in a closed mold in which the reinforced material is placed in advance. RTM parts are used e.g. in the construction market, automotive industry, sandwich panels and boats.

Pultrusion

We provide dedicated curing systems for the European market, as well as areas where the ambient temperatures can be much higher, like in the Middle East. The main products which are manufactured by the pultrusion process are profiles and rods which are used in steps, grids, handles, windows, as reinforcement bars in concrete (rebar), etc.

Polymer concrete

Polymer concrete is a highly filled product based on approximately 10% polyester resin and 90% compact mix formulated on particle-sized quartz fillers. Most of the end products are used in the building and construction industry.

Hot press molding

Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) and Bulk Molding Compound (BMC) are intermediate products which are finally pressed to end products in the hot press at temperatures in the range of 150°C, so called Hot Press Molding. During pressing it is possible to use an in-mold coating to finish the exterior of the product during the curing step. The end products are very diverse and include components for the automotive, electrical and building industry.

Hand lay-up and spray-up

Our spray-up application organic peroxides are the perfect fit for your spray machines. Butanox®, Trigonox® and Cyclonox® curing agents are designed for your specific needs. The hand lay-up application is done by means of rollers and brushes using an open mold. It allows for manufacturing a wide range of products with relatively low investments on molds and machinery. The resins include standard orthophthalic and isophthalic resins but also epoxy based vinyl ester resins for enhanced chemical resistance.

Gelcoats

Our cure systems for gelcoats can be used with spray-up or brush applications. Due to their guaranteed low water content and absence of polar solvents our cure systems are the first choice for curing marine gelcoats osmosis-free.

Filament winding

The manufacturing of glassfiber reinforced plastic (GRP) pipes is done with several production routes. First, there is the so called Drostholm continuous filament winding process using a continuous mandrel and external heating on the pipe. Secondly, there is a discontinuous filament winding process with a fixed mandrel. The pipes are manufactured for desalination plants and for water transport (potable and wastewater), but also for the chemical industry where chemical resistance of the inner wall of the pipe is important.

Engineered stone

When producing engineered or agglomerated stone, there are two different production methods: the discontinuous block process and the semi-continuous slabs process. The slabs are mainly used in high-end sanitary applications such as kitchen tops, floor tiles and wall claddings.

Continuous laminating

Our cure systems are the preferred choice for continuous lamination to produce flat and corrugated sheets. This application can be done at ambient temperature using a large flat lamination table or using continuous machines with an oven to cure the sheets at elevated temperature.

Coatings

Our cure systems provide optimal cure for coatings based on unsaturated polyester resin. They can be applied via either spray equipment or other coatings equipment. They are mainly used as products for coatings in furniture, wood and steel.

Chemical anchors and minebolts

Our thermoset product portfolio helps you find an optimal curing system for your chemical anchor and mine bolt application.

Centrifugal casting

Our products are essential curing agents used as applications for centrifugal casting machines. They are used in the production of pipes for sewer water transport and potable water transport and storage tanks.

Buttons

Buttons are manufactured either using a centrifugal casting sheet machine or by using a rod pouring machine. The sheets are slowly cured, and the buttons are cut out afterwards.

Body fillers

Our thermoset product portfolio provides you the optimal curing system for body filler and spray putty applications.

Acrylic road marking and flooring

Road marking comes in various forms such as tape, paint and coating, thermoplast (acrylic) and cold-plast polymerization.

Related case stories

Curing with Nouryact® accelerators allows our customers to easily switch from glass to flax fibers while maintaining mechanical properties. Drying flax and keeping it in confined storage is not necessary. In fact, the mechanical properties of the non-dried flax fiber composite using UP or VE resins are similar to an epoxy-based laminate using dried fibers under the same conditions. Since the pre-drying and separate storage of dried flax fibers is no longer needed, it makes the use of these natural fibers easy and cheap. This can allow more companies to start using biofibers for their composite end-products.
